oh hi

Oh, hi! I'm back! I was in Minneapolis hanging out with three of my favorite ladies in the world (and our collective eighty seven children under the age of four), and now I'm back, and about to go pick up one of my other favorite ladies in the world. AKA, The Lisa. Who is arriving with The Alice and staying at our house all weekend long.

I'm not even going to TELL you about Anderson jumping out of his crib AGAIN except he can't get back in so we're going in there twenty times to put him back in and I'm also NOT telling you how he's waking in the 5 o'clock hour and behaving, at best, like an angry chimp. So I also won't tell you we're headed back to the bed thing tonight because that's kind of the only choice and I also won't go into how I dusted off the ol' Ferber book last night and how we're going to Ferber his crazy little ass AY ESS AY PEE before I lose my MIND. (Too late, you say? Perhaps.) That Ferber, he knows all, and made me see the err of a few of our ways. Oh, and maybe I also bought a $30 clock that's supposed to teach them when it's okay to get up. Please cross your fingers for us, interwebs. I'm a morning person but by morning I mean some hour that starts with a number >(or equal to)7, you know? I'm not a good mama at 5am. Is anyone? Anyone who is sober, I mean?

Is this a direct response to my asking if you have been engaging in unsavory activities this week?

Sounds like you should just come back to Minneapolis! HA! He just missed you so much he wants to spend LOTS of time with you!

Hey! I never comment but had to let you know that my little man (turned 2 in February) has that clock. It took a few nights but it works! Every morning I wake up with him shouting into the monitor "mama it's green, it's green." It is awesome. He stays in his big boy bed also.

Good luck!

My daughter slept past 5:30 for the first time in over a week today. Granted it was only 6:10, but I did a little happy dance. I'm pretty sure I might go insane if she doesn't start sleeping later! I wonder where my Ferber book went...

you may think i'm in crazy-town, but we use a crib tent on our 2.5 year old daughter. nothing, and i mean NOTHING, kept her in her crib or room. this was our only solution until she is mature enough for a bed.

(disregard this comment if you think a crib tent = caged child!)

Love the blog!

Anne: but of course! ;)

Kaden and Ellis: I'm coming back to Minneapolis to hide in your basement (and sleep) for a month if this keeps up.

Lindsey: thanks for sharing! Ours arrived today. I'm putting a whole lot of hope in this little clock. If I can ever figure out how to set it. ;)

Ashley: WOO HOO! I hope it only gets better!

Whatsfordinner: totally not opposed to the tenting (isn't a crib just a cage, anyway? You just put a ceiling on the cage.) I felt like he's so close to turning 3 that we just needed to bite the bullet, though.
